• NAPIT Registration: NAPIT is an organisation committed to consumer safety in the domestic sector. Registration demonstrates competence in electrical safety in dwellings, in line with the aims of the Electrical Safety Council.

 

  • NAPIT Trust Mark: the Government Endorsed Standards, backed by the Department of Communities and Local Government

 

  • Part P: a part P competent person is one whose work is safe and of the required standard to comply with the law, according to the recently introduced Building Regulation affecting electrical installations in dwellings, as approved by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. A 'Competent Person' is a firm that has been approved by one of the government-approved Part P schemes as sufficiently competent to self-certify that its work complies with the Building Regulations.

 

  • IEE 17th Edition of the BS7671 Regulations: the national standard to which all domestic wiring must conform from July 2008. Gaining this qualification enables The-Electrician to test and approve the work of self and others. This replaces the earlier 16th Edition.
